Blog # 33: CANCUN 3

After my dad paid our bill at Senor Frogs, we left to go back to our small resort. Since it was getting late the shuttle buses no longer drove around tourist. If we wanted to get back we either had to walk or pay for a taxi. My dad decided that we should walk so we could see the scenery of Cancun from Senor Frogs to the Laguna Suites. We figured it was not a far walk, so my sister and I both agreed that walking would be fine. I then noticed I was the only one wearing heels. These heels were not extremely tall, but walking in heels can be painful later on.
While walking we came across a flea market. My sister and I, being the shopaholics that we are wanted to take a look. They were just closing up the market as we were walking by. One customer offered for us to come inside his area that was only covered by a large piece of cloth. We all knew we were taking up his time and we really did not expect to buy anything. We saw some crazy items that you would never expect to see in the United States. There was a flute that was shaped and resembled the male genital. Being the obnoxious person I am, I had my sister take a photo of me with the flute. My dad shook his head and walked away. The Mexican of the shop thought it was hilarious to see an American girl do something like that. Throughout the shop was dozens of sculptures of Jesus on a cross that was made out of fishbone. It was truly amazing that someone could sculpt something so difficult out of bone. This particular shop did not have any clothing items, which is what I was hoping to buy, but it did have several wrestling mask that I thought about buying for my boyfriend, Tanner. These masks were ridiculous looking. They looked like they all belonged to Nacho Libre.
The only thing we left with was a few pictures from that shop. I felt bad because the owner left his shop open longer just for us. Oh well, we will be back I am sure because it was only the first day that we have arrived and we still had 3 full days left to do our shopping. It was getting late and we all knew we had to wake up early the next morning to attend a presentation at a different resort. My dad won this entire vacation through a golf tournament. In order for our resort to be completely free, we all had to attend a presentation in hopes for my dad buying a time share. He was open-minded about the presentation and did not plan to buy anything. We finally decided to walk home around 10:00 PM and we had to wake up at 7:00 the next morning. We were cutting it close if we wanted to get an entire 8 hours of sleep.
