“Family Guy” is a television show televised late at night. This show is for the adult audience which shows informal language and somewhat offending scenes. The show can be sexually deviant towards one another, and can be harmful for the viewers. This show is for the audience who can take a joke, and not be offended.
“Family Guy” is an American cartoon series created by Seth MacFarlane. The entire series focuses on the Griffin family, a dysfunctional family with many problems; consisting of three children: Chris, Meg, and Stewie, and Peter as the father, and Louis as the Mother. They have a family pet, named Brain who appears to be a white Labrador. Each show consists of informal humor which parody American Culture.
One episode took place where Chris went on a date with a young female who appeared to be suffering from Down syndrome. This certain episode can be extremely hurtful to the viewers who have a friend or family member who suffers from the same mental disorder. Sara Palin for example, took great offense from viewing this episode due to the fact that her baby son has Down syndrome. In my opinion, this is what this show is about, crude and rude humor. If people do not like or agree with what Family Guy has to offer as a television show, and then they should not watch it! However, I do think the episode was a little on the harsh side. They could have done without the Down syndrome part because so many people suffer from the mental disorder, and that can be extremely hurtful to watch.
I do enjoy watching Family Guy because it relates to our Society as Americans. Every small joke that is put inside each and every episode has a direct meaning. I do not understand all of the jokes, because this show is directed towards the adult audience, and I am a young adult that doesn’t understand all of the jokes that are placed in the show. I do think this television show is hilarious, but I think the maker of this show needs to pay close attention on what he uses in his episodes.
