Blog # 17: Favorite Color

Everyone has a specific color that is their very favorite. My favorite color is green. To go in even greater detail of the certain shade of green that is my favorite, I would have to say lime green is my all time favorite. The reason why “lime green” is my favorite, because I believe the color signifies spring and summer, which just so happen to be my favorite two seasons of the year. Every time I see a bright colored shade of green, I just smile because it makes me so happy to visualize that a color can be so beautiful.
Green is actually not a primary color, it is secondary, meaning that two colors had to combine together to make the beautiful green shade. When yellow and blue is mixed together it produces green. The more yellow you use in the mix the brighter the shade of green. The bluer the mix the darker shade of green is produced. A shade that had a more abundant amount of yellow in the mix makes a lime green color. A shad that had a more abundant amount of blue in the mix makes a hunter green color.
Green is not a very ordinary color; it is actually very unique making it one of the reasons why I love the color so much. You do not get to see many wardrobe items that are bright green and vibrant, making some of the clothes in my closet dull. Green is the color of life, making it so beautiful. The grass we walk on is so beautifully green and spiky. The only color you see on a golf course is green, making the whole area look hypnotic. The money we use to purchase items is green and everyone uses money in one way or another.
When I was a young teenager and was allowed to decorate my own room, I of course chose green. My bedspread and curtains were white with different shade of green dots covered on it. I had a big bright green fuzzy rug and pillows to match. I even had green lamps and green picture frames to join with the green decorations. When I was able to drive, I begged my parents to buy me a lime green Volkswagen bug. My dad talked me out of it by saying I would get sick of it fast. I listened to him despite the fact I wanted a bright green car.
Green is my favorite color for many reasons. It really has affected my life in many ways. Every time I see the color, I melt invisibly. It is so hard to explain in words how much I enjoy seeing the color green. Green can be everywhere; money, clothes, food, beverages, animals, and anything you can imagine. If green is so beautiful on Earth, just imagine what it will look like in Heaven!
