Blog # 9: Guardian Angel End

My sister’s car wasn’t as damaged nearly as bad as the other small Kia. The damage on the Kia was very extent. The air bag had deployed and the front of the car was completely destroyed. It looked like Godzilla had taken a huge bite out of the front. The engine was exposed and the driver’s side tire was flat. The driver’s side door was so mangled that it wouldn’t even shut.
My sister’s jeep was quite damaged. Her entire front end was mangled. Both head lights were knocked out and the grill was lying in the middle of the street. Her front passenger tire was at a 90 degree angle and the axle was completely broken. My sister said the impact was so severe that her knitted beanie flew off of her head and landed in the back seat. Also, her iPod that was hooked up via cigarette lighter flew off its import and landed in the back seat of the passenger side.
I asked my sister what all happened as soon as the accident took place. I for one wouldn’t know the first thing to do if I was involved in a wreck or witness a wreck take place. She said as soon as the impact happened, a lady who was almost involved in the accident herself, came running over to both vehicles to make sure everyone involved was okay. She told Laura and the other young girl to stay in their vehicle in case they were injured. She immediately called 911 and told the operator the exact location of the car accident; Woodlawn and Marjorie. As interesting as the story was, I asked what happened when the police and ambulance arrived. She said they immediately blocked off the street to eliminate other cars running into the already wrecked vehicles. She filled out bundles and bundles of paperwork, called insurance, and got checked out by the EMS. The paramedics quickly found out that nothing was wrong with either of the girls and the ambulance was soon on their way to help other people that may need their help more.
After everything was finally done, about an hour and a half later, we all went home. My mom, sister, and I were starving by this point. My mom quickly ordered pizza and had it delivered. While we were eating we kept saying how thankful we were that my sister, Laura wasn’t harmed. She was extremely lucky that she was wearing her seatbelt. She could have easily knocked out her pretty teeth or broken some bones, or even worse, she could have been killed. There was defiantly a guardian angel resting on her shoulder that day, possibly my aunt Jeanna.
